Life Milestones & Fun Facts
Age is just a number, but some numbers are more interesting than others. Here are some biological and chronological milestones:
- 1 Billion Seconds: You will reach this milestone when you are approx. 31 years and 8 months old.
- Biological Peak: Most humans reach their peak physical bone mass between ages 25 and 30.
- Sleep: By the time you are 30, you have likely spent about 10 years just sleeping!
Korean Age vs. International Age
In most of the world, you are 0 years old when born. However, in traditional Korean Age systems, a baby is considered 1 year old at birth (rounding up the time in the womb). Additionally, everyone "ages up" on New Year's Day, not their birthday! Our calculator uses the standard International Age system used on official documents globally.
The Math: How we calculate exact age
Calculating age isn't just `Current Year - Birth Year`. To be precise, our tool accounts for:
- Leap Years: Every 4 years, February has 29 days. This affects the day count.
- Month Lengths: Some months have 30 days, others 31 (and February has 28 or 29).
- As-Of Date: We compare the specific day of the month to ensure you haven't "aged up" until your actual birthday.
