Frequently Asked Questions

Do my photos get uploaded?
No. Decoding and conversion happen on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why do I need a “HEIC engine”?
Most browsers can’t read HEIC natively. A tiny local library (like heic2any powered by libheif) decodes the photo so we can save it as JPG/PNG.
What’s the difference between JPG and PNG?
JPG is lossy and smaller (choose a quality). PNG is lossless and keeps transparency but larger.
Will metadata (EXIF) be preserved?
Canvas-based conversion doesn’t retain EXIF. For metadata‑preserving workflows use dedicated EXIF tools.
